How to Apply
Admission procedures for online courses at Marshall University are the same as for on-campus courses. You must be admitted to Marshall University to be eligible for an OCCHS course enrollment.
Applying to Marshall is easy and can be done online!
The following items are necessary for high school Juniors or Seniors to be admitted to Marshall University
as an early entry student:
- Current enrollment in a high school
program.
- Completion of a High School Application for Early College Credit at Marshall University form.

- Complete high school transcripts with standardized test scores.
(Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale is required.)
- One letter of recommendation from a counselor or principal.

- To take English or math courses, a
student must have a qualifying ACT or SAT score in the subject
area: English courses - an ACT English score of 18 or SAT
Critical Reading score of 450 is required for ENG 101; Math courses - an
ACT Math score of 19 or SAT Math score of 460 is required for
MTH 123 or MTH 127; some other math courses may require a higher
ACT or SAT score.
The following items are necessary for students prior to the Junior year in high school:

All of the above requirements must be
fulfilled.

A letter of recommendation from a
teacher who is familiar with the student's academic performance.

Student must maintain a 2.00 GPA in all
college courses.

Standardized test scores must meet the
following criteria:
- An ACT/SAT at the 85th percentile
or above (ACT = 26, SAT = 1180 CR+M).
- If the ACT or SAT has not been
taken, a score at the 90th percentile or higher on another
nationally-normed standardized test, such as the PLAN, that
provides evidence of the ability to succeed at the college
level is required.
