Step #1. Belmont Report

Please read the Belmont Report, as it forms the basis of the Marshall University Human Research Protection Program.  Once you have read the report, print the following instructions that are applicable to the IRB to which you will submit.

Then, go to Step #2 below to find the link to the education program website.  Follow the step-by-step instructions for registration.

Step #2. Human Assurance Training

Go to the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) website. This website contains the CITI Educational course. You must first “Register for the Course” (see printable instructions above) to establish a username and password.  Then, regardless of whether you are at the VA or one of the hospitals, you must select Marshall University as the institution.

Everyone is required to complete the basic course, then every two years you will complete a refresher course. If you have completed the basic course and have forgotten your username and password, please contact Bruce Day to obtain that information.
