Banner Learning (BUG-L)

The mission of the Banner Users’ Group for Learning (BUG-L) is to coordinate all training efforts pertaining to the Banner Administrative Information System. The group, comprised of designated trainers from each Banner Users’ Group, will meet regularly to review training procedures, new modules or policies implemented University-wide, and to review/update web documentation. Based on Banner Oversight Committee (BOC) recommendations, each Banner User Group (BUG) has designated an official trainer (and an alternate, if possible) from each major area within each Banner module (e.g. registration, admissions, financial aid, academic deans, finance, payroll, hr). Trainer qualifications are that the person must be knowledgeable about Banner and University procedures associated with his/her major area. Each trainer is responsible for training a new employee with regard to the business practices and workflow within his/her area. Additionally, the BUG-L is responsible for overseeing the Banner Basic Navigation classes that are required prior to the issuance of an MUINFO account.

Judy Blevins is the chairperson of BUG-L.

If there are issues that should be brought to the BUG-L, contact one of the members listed below. An Outlook group list is available for discussion of topics related to the training by sending an e-mail to: bug-l-group@marshall.edu
