Break Housing

First Year Residence Halls

The FY Halls will remain open over fall, winter, and spring breaks. Students who live in these halls may remain in their rooms during these breaks at no extra cost. Please be aware that policies may change during break periods and students will be notified of Break Housing policies in the weeks leading up to the break.

All Other Residence Halls

For students who live in all other residence halls, several weeks prior to each break, applications will be placed at each front desk and are available online. Break Housing is offered to those who need to stay on campus due to local employment or other extenuating circumstances. For the fall and spring breaks, there is no extra charge. For the winter break, a daily charge will be billed to your Marshall account.

Break Housing residents are housed in Twin Towers East and West. If you are not currently a resident of those halls, you will need to find a resident in one of these halls who is willing to let you stay in their room. This resident must be identified on your application or you will be placed in an empty room depending upon room availability.

Residence halls are staffed with Resident Advisors, a Residence Director, and front desk security during the breaks. Information on dining hall hours and costs will be posted prior to each break.
