First Year Residence Halls
The First Year Residence Halls, North and South, are four story freshmen residence halls. The FY halls are co-ed by room and house a total of 782 students in double occupancy rooms. Each building is equipped with a theater room, smart classroom, and apartments for faculty-in-residence and full time professional staff that live in the FY halls. Each building also has a kitchenette, recreation lounges, study lounges, and a pool table or ping-pong table. Each room is equipped with heating/air conditioning, cable amenities, high speed internet, and a private bathroom.
The First Year Residence Halls are staffed by a professional staff comprised of a Director of Operations, three Assistant Directors, an Area Coordinator, and two Maintenance Technicians. The FY halls also employ 22 Resident Advisors (RAs). The staff’s main goals are to provide the residents with valuable information, create positive community through educational programming, maintain a safe and high-quality living environment, and serve as a resource whenever a student has a question or concern.
