Important! Your application and all required credentials and fees must be on file with the appropriate Office of Admissions before your application can be processed and before we can render an admission decision.

Domestic (U.S.) application files must be complete at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the term for which you are applying.
International (outside the U.S.) application files must be complete at least two months prior to the beginning of the term for which you are applying.
Please note that some undergraduate and many graduate programs have specific deadlines: Check your program information for details.

UNDERGRADUATE / Bachelor’s Applicants

Use the Undergraduate application if you are one of the following types of undergraduate students (for more information on these student types visit the Undergraduate Admissions page):

Before you begin on your application, be sure to refer to undergraduate admission requirements.
2.
When you’re ready, apply online. Or, you can download and mail, email, or fax the undergraduate application.
3.
Marshall University is also a Common App member. Apply to Marshall University using the Common Application.

GRADUATE / Master’s & Professional Applicants

Use the Graduate application if you are one of the following types of graduate students: (for more information on these student types visit the Graduate Admissions page):

International Applicants

Before you start on your application, please refer to the international undergraduate admission requirements or the international graduate admission requirements.

If you plan to study English to meet the undergraduate English proficiency or graduate English proficiency requirements, apply online to the English Language Institute. Or download and mail, email, or fax the English Language Institute application.
2.
When you’re ready, apply online. Or download and mail, email, or fax the appropriate application depending on your intended level of study.

Use the undergraduate international application if you are an undergraduate international student.
Use the graduate international application if you are a graduate international student.

DISTANCE / Graduate & Undergraduate Applicants

Marshall University offers many graduate and undergraduate programs which are conducted entirely online. Online / Distance-Only Undergraduate and Graduate students do not have to have a campus or classroom presence during their academic careers and are eligible for a distance tuition rate in lieu of regular tuition and fees. To apply to an Online / Distance-Only program, students must apply online by submitting the application for Online / Distance-Only learning.
