Marshall University
is committed to quality undergraduate and graduate
education. To help achieve this goal, the Center for the
Advancement of Teaching & Learning helps faculty enhance
the nature and quality of the educational experience of
all Marshall students through instructional and career
development opportunities. University faculty must be
experts in the processes of teaching and learning as
well as experts in their discipline. The activities of
the Center are designed to encourage innovative and
effective teaching methods which will stimulate student
learning.
The Center for Teaching Excellence at Marshall
University was established in the fall of 1999 within
the Office of Academic Affairs. In 2006 the name of the
Center was changed to the Center for the Advancement of
Teaching and Learning. The Center is comprised of the
Faculty Development Program (CTL), the
Writing Across the Curriculum
program, the
Office of Assessment and Program
Review, and the
Service Learning Program. |
