Welcome to the CTL!
The mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning is to promote a campus culture
at Marshall University that values pedagogical, disciplinary, and program-based
inquiry in support of student learning.
The Center houses three units: the Faculty Development Office, the Writing across
the Curriculum Program, and the Service Learning Program.
The Office of Academic Affairs established the Center for Teaching Excellence in
the fall of 1999. In 2006 the name of the Center was changed to the Center for Teaching
and Learning in order to reflect a broadening mission and a fuller understanding
of the crucial interdependence between effective teaching and successful learning.
The Center is located in Old Main 109.
