New Faculty Programs
New Faculty Programs Schedule
New Faculty Orientation includes six additional events throughout the academic year to give you guidance and information a little at a time. Programs for the Fall 2014 semester are described below:
September: Technology 101
September 12, 2014
2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
In the September meeting for New Faculty Orientation, we will dive into some of the technology that all of you will have to use at some point this semester. You will begin creating your annual report by entering your professional activities into Digital Measures and learn how to post midterm and final grades in MILO. Both Digital Measures and MILO are accessed through MyMU, so we will start there. Our guests include Roberta Ferguson, Marshall University Registrar.
October: Thundering Herd Homecoming Game & Tailgate
October 11, 2014
The October meeting for New Faculty Orientation is purely social! We will join the Huntington and campus community for Marshall University’s homecoming celebration! The fun kicks off with a tailgate, catered by Buddy’s Barbeque. Following the tailgate is the game and we will see the opening kick-off as the Thundering Herd takes on Middle Tennessee at the “Joan” (Joan C. Edwards Stadium). Entrance to the game, for you and your guest, is compliments of the Athletic Department.
November: Technology 102 (TECI)
November 12, 2014
3:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Harris Hall 130
Our final NFO meeting for the semester takes us back to technology. This time, our focus is on the Technology Enhanced Classroom Initiative (TECI), in particular the project-based learning and collaboration (TECI 3) rooms. Completion of the TECI 3 workshop is necessary prior to being scheduled to teach in a TECI 3 classroom.
Spring 2015 events will be announced soon!
