Departments


Business Operations & Central Support
The Information Technology Business Operations and Central Support team provides support for the core IT units with regards to administration, finance, purchasing, travel, human resources and projects.
Campus ID Office
The ID Office makes photo identification cards and badges for Marshall University students, faculty, and staff. The ID Office is required to verify the identity of any individual requesting a card with a valid, Government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. All identification cards issued will bear the individual’s official name on record with the University.
Infrastructure Communications team
This team is responsible for the basic network infrastructure including internet services, switching & routing, WiFi infrastructure, firewall security, phone and voice communication.
Infrastructure Data Center systems
This team manages the university primary data center in Drinko Library, the secondary backup location in Prichard hall and remote sites. The team is responsible for servers, enterprise storage, and infrastructure applications like email and unified messaging.
Enterprise Applications Business and Process Analysis
This team manages the database and application tiers supporting Ellucian™ Banner© student management system, finance ERP, human resources module and other components like data warehousing and reporting.
Enterprise Applications Technical Integration
This team is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of SharePoint document management system and mobile apps. The team is also responsible for the learning management systems (LMS), Blackboard Learn™ supporting eCourse and distance learning.
Digital Media Services
Digital Media Services provides a range of support services for the university and community. This group administers the infrastructure for lecture capture, live and on demand video streaming, and digital signage. Additionally, the group provides video production and live streaming for campus wide events including winter and spring commencement ceremonies, the annual memorial fountain ceremony, and many others.
Information Security
The mission of the Information Security Office is to support the goals of Marshall University Information Technology by assuring the availability, integrity and confidentiality of information.
IT Services & Support
The IT Services & Support team is made up of the IT Service Desk & Tier II support, University Computing Facilities, Technology Enhanced Classrooms (TECI) and IT Operations on both the Huntington and South Charleston campuses. Our goal is to provide a high quality of customer service to the campus community and contribute to the academic growth of the university. Our objective is to be a trusted and reliable partner to all of Marshall University.
