Campus ID Office

Update on Marshall IDs
Effective June 1, 2020 we will only be issuing Marshall Mobile IDs. Please contact the Campus ID office with any questions.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Marshall University Campus ID Office is to provide exceptional service to our students, parents, faculty, staff, and contract partners.  We strive to maintain a sound, secure identification card program that benefits our community by providing convenience, security, and financial benefits.

About the MUID Office

We are located on the first floor of the Drinko Library.

The ID Office makes official photo identification cards, badges, and mobile credentials for Marshall University students, faculty, and staff. The ID Office is required to verify the identity of any individual requesting a card with a valid, Government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport.  All identification credentials issued will bear the individual’s official name on record with the University.  Preferred names must be registered with the University through the Office of the Registrar in order to be used on mobile IDs or badges.

Students

To be eligible for student identification credentials active enrollment is required for the current or upcoming academic term.

Dual credit students working through local high schools may request a special “dual credit/high school student” card when their course registration is active in the University computer system.

Badges for student teaching, nursing, or other clinicals require approval in advance from the responsible department. Please check with the instructor or the ID Office to ensure the proper authorization is on file. A charge of $5 to $10 may apply for certain badges.

Employees

Full time faculty or staff must present ID authorization documents from Human Resource Services.

Part-time, extra-help employees must present a letter from the employing department on university letterhead identifying them and must have a university identification number assigned in advance.

If you need to have your photo taken for your ID card, photos can be taken at the following locations:

  • Huntington Campus – at the MU ID Office
  • South Charleston Campus – at the Library
  • Mid-Ohio Valley Center (MOVC)

In all cases, you must present proper ID at the office to pick up your card or badge.
