Information on each classification of student (undergraduate, graduate, international, and distance) and each student type is provided on this page to help you select the application that is right for you. Additional information is available on the Marshall University Admissions page.

If you have already submitted your application through our online application system and need to make a change, or if you have questions about your application, please contact Marshall Admissions, and we will be happy to assist you.

Important! Your application and all required credentials and fees must be on file with the appropriate Office of Admissions before your application can be processed and before we can render an admission decision.

Domestic (U.S.) application files must be complete at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the term for which you are applying.
International (outside the U.S.) application files must be complete at least two months prior to the beginning of the term for which you are applying.
Please note that some undergraduate and many graduate academic programs have specific deadlines. Consult with individual academic departments for application details.

UNDERGRADUATE / Bachelor’s Applicants

International Applicants

Before you start on your application, please refer to the international undergraduate admission requirements or the international graduate admission requirements.
2.
If you plan to study English to meet the undergraduate English proficiency or graduate English proficiency requirements, apply online to the English Language Institute. Or download and mail, email, or fax the English Language Institute application.
3.
When you’re ready, apply online.

DISTANCE / Graduate & Undergraduate Applicants

Marshall University offers many graduate and undergraduate programs which are conducted entirely online. Online / Distance-Only Undergraduate and Graduate students do not have to have a campus or classroom presence during their academic careers and are eligible for a distance tuition rate in lieu of regular tuition and fees. To apply to an Online / Distance-Only program, students must apply online by submitting the application for Online / Distance-Only learning.
