Marshall University’s kinesiology programs include athletic training, biomechanics and exercise science. These programs focus on the study of how the body moves and functions, and researches ways to strengthen the body while protecting it from injury. Exercise science is a multidisciplinary scientific field that focuses on the study of the human body, and how its anatomical, biomechanical, biochemical, and physiological aspects relate to exercise. Marshall’s exercise science bachelor’s degree program will train you to help people improve their health and wellness through physical activity.

Our Bachelor of Science in Biomechanics degree is designed to teach students foundational skills in kinesiology, exercise science and human physiology.

The only one of its kind in West Virginia, our Biomechanics undergraduate program is one of less than 10 undergraduate programs across the country that offers a true bachelor’s degree in Biomechanics.

Athletic trainers (ATs) are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Marshall offers a professional degree program that enables students to earn both a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and a master’s degree in AT through MU’s 3 + 2 plan.
