
Biography
Carleen O’Neill, Operations Coordinator for Graduate & Interdisciplinary Studies, contributes to Marshall’s educational mission by providing support for the Graduate Studies Office, Global Education Office, Student Research Office, and other offices within Academic Affairs that have an institution-wide impact.
Within Graduate Studies, Carleen coordinates and processes Graduate Assistant hiring across the university in partnership with Human Resources. She also supports strategic initiatives of the office, supervises work-study students, and serves as a liaison for the Graduate & Professional Student Association and Phi Kappa Phi.
Carleen supports key Academic Affairs offices with budget development, tracking, and reporting, including Graduate Studies, Global Education and the Student Research Office,
Carleen has served on the Classified Staff Council as an EEO 30 representative and served on the Staff Development Committee. In 2025, she was elected to represent Marshall’s staff on the Marshall University Board of Governors from July 2025 through June 2027. She was a member of the 2023 cohort of the John Marshall Leadership Fellows Program.
