Shade Trees

Shade trees are known for their broad canopies, sturdy branches, and ability to provide cooling shade across the landscape. These trees help improve air quality, reduce urban heat, manage storm water, and create comfortable outdoor spaces for learning, gathering, and recreation. Many of the arboretum’s largest and most recognizable trees are found in this category.
