Admitted Student Day Information
Start your day by checking in, grabbing your swag bag, and getting your itinerary! The event officially begins at 10:00 AM in the Cam Henderson Center with a Welcome Session celebrating the Class of 2030.
Academic Preview Sessions – Learn more about your major and what it’s like to take classes at
Marshall.
Strategies for Academic Success – Discover the FAM program, tutoring services, the Writing Center, and other academic resources to help you thrive.
Housing & Residence Life Mixer (Students Only) – Participate in a fun activity and meet fellow classmates. You will also learn about our Themed Communities.
Dorm Tours – Visit the showroom dorms in Freshman South, Buskirk Hall, and Twin Towers East.
Parents – hear from a panel of current Marshall students and discover the moments that helped them feel connected, supported, and confident.
Student Support – Learn about resources for mental health, wellness, and student affairs.
Financial Aid Sessions – Get answers about scholarships, FAFSA, and funding your education.
Academic Advising Information Table – Ask about transfer credits, high school coursework, and next steps for class registration.
Campus Tours – Explore academic buildings, Drinko Library, and the Recreation Center.

A block of rooms have been held for guests traveling from out of town. The room rate is $119/night for Friday and/or Saturday nights. Check-in will begin in the CAM Henderson Center. Here is the address: 1817 3rd Ave, Huntington, WV 25755
Check-in begins at 9:15 a.m. but you are free to check-in any time after 9:15 am and before 10:00 am when your first event begins. We will leave check-in open for anyone running a little behind until about 10:30 a.m..
You are welcome to bring as many guests to this event as you would like.
We have events that are designed for parents AND students, some that cater to each group individually, and some that only students can attend. For the most part, parents and students are welcome to attend all events together.
Yes! We will provide a free catered lunch and provide refreshments and breakfast pastries when you arrive.
Guests can park in the 3rd Avenue garage, football stadium, or employee lot for free.
We offer allergy conscious options at Harless Dining hall that accommodate 7 of the 8 main allergens. If you need to eat at this location to accommodate a specific allergy, please let us know and we can provide tickets for you and your guests to experience one of our most popular dining halls.
We encourage participants to dress warmly and be prepared for potentially adverse weather conditions. Attendees will be on their feet for a majority of the day and walking outside on campus to get from event to event. Please see our list of specific recommendations below:

- Marshall University does not provide transportation. However, many local hotels offer rides to and from the Tri-State Airport and may accommodate drop off and pick up options to Marshall University’s campus. Arrangements can be made by calling the front desk and requesting transportation at least 2 weeks before the event.
