Volunteer registration is now open!
We invite students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to be part of this meaningful tradition of service.
Each year, hundreds of members of the #MarshallUFamily come together to “take care of the house” through hands-on projects that create a visible impact across campus and throughout the surrounding community.
During Community Cares Week, volunteers will:
- Give back through meaningful service projects that support Marshall and the surrounding community
- Help beautify and improve shared spaces through activities like painting, landscaping and clean-up
- Connect with fellow members of the #MarshallUFamily while making a real impact
- Enjoy a great team-building opportunity — groups, departments and organizations are encouraged to volunteer together
- Receive a free t-shirt and lunch on the day they serve and be entered to win door prizes
We also welcome volunteers of all ages. Tuesday, May 19, will feature kid-friendly service projects, making it easy for employees, students and community members to serve alongside their children. Community Cares Week is also a great opportunity for high school students to earn community service hours required for graduation.
Sign up today to find a project that fits your interests and schedule–and join us in putting Marshall’s commitment to service into action.

Not everyone can join us in person – but you can still be part of the impact.
If you’re cheering us on from afar or your schedule won’t allow you to volunteer May 19-22, we invite you to support our volunteers by purchasing a small item from our Community Cares Week Amazon Wish List.
From bottled water and sunscreen to grab-and-go snacks like crackers and beef jerky, these simple items help keep our volunteers energized, hydrated and ready to serve throughout the week.
Your gift – no matter the size – helps fuel the work being done across our communities and ensures our volunteers have what they need to make a difference.

Have an idea for a future project? If you know of a need on campus or in the community, we want to hear from you. The deadline to submit ideas is Friday, March 27.
