About

Ahmed O. Makharesh, Ph.D., is a Full-Time Instructor in the Department of Communication Studies at Marshall University.

At Marshall, he currently teaches Communication in Relationships, Communication in Groups, and Leadership Dynamics.

He earned his Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Southern Mississippi.

His teaching and research interests include investigative journalism, citizen journalism, media and culture, minority representation in media, documentary production, and communication studies. Before joining Marshall, Dr. Makharesh taught courses in public speaking, media literacy, broadcast journalism, professional communication, small group communication, and communication research.

His work has been published and presented internationally, with a focus on Arab media, investigative reporting, and citizen participation in journalism.
