Emma Korstanje

Emma Korstanje 

Exercise Science , 2026

Coming from the College of Science is Huntington native, Emma Korstanje. As an exercise science major, Emma’s favorite class is Exercise Physiology because it’s challenging and interesting to learn about how the body reacts to exercise. She has a strong sense of smell, which is probably why she loves baking. Emma wants to become a realtor and a physical therapist, but for now she is a Feature Twirler who loves performing on the field on game day. “Get as involved as you can! Many students quit their hobbies or clubs when they get to college because they want to focus on their academics, but they miss out on making connections with other students and the school, is what Emma would tell the incoming Herd.

Braley Poff

Psychology Major, 2026

Psychology major, Braley Poff, comes from right over the bridge in Proctorville, Ohio. She came to Marshall in hopes of becoming a Clinical Psychologist. Braley’s advice is to become involved, saying that something as little as going to the student center can go a long way. Braley loves the connections she has been able to make with her peers and instructors. Her favorite Marshall moment has been the first day of school as it felt like the beginning of a new world!

Jayln Armstrong

Communication Disorders, 2026

Charleston native, Jayln Armstrong, is Majoring in Communication Disorders with a Minor in Religious Studies. Jayln loves to sing, read, and also loves fashion! As an RA in Commons, Jayln says that the best thing you can do is to get involved, as there are communities here that will support your every step. One of her favorite memories at Marshall was riding to Austin’s at the market on campus E-Bikes.

She has shared that she loves everything about Marshall, especially during the Fall and Spring because of everyone out by the Memorial Student Center. One of her favorite memories at Marshall was riding to Austin’s at the market on campus E-Bikes.

Ashley Clark

Public Relations, 2028

From right up the road in Ona, West Virginia, we have Ashley Clark. Ashley is a freshman here at Marshall. She says her favorite thing about our campus

is the environment and how welcoming the community has been! Her Marshall moment has been with the Week of Welcome where she met her new best friends. She says she loves how there is always something going on in Huntington. Some of her hobbies include hanging out with friends, editing videos, and learning delicious new recipes. A unique thing about Ashley is that she is double-jointed.

Indigo Graves

Biomedical Engineering, 2027

From Sinks Grove, WV, we have Indigo Graves. Indigo is a sophomore here at Marshall University studying Biomedical Engineering. She is involved with She states that she chose Marshall for our open and welcoming communities inside and outside of her major. She enjoys the creative process of all thing’s photography, fashion, and makeup. Indigo would encourage students to attend events and also become an active member of Marshall’s community!

Haley Prather, Marshall University

Haley Prather

University Marketing and Communications Intern

Haley, a Morgantown native, is Majoring in Marketing with a minor in Public Relations. Haley dreams of starting up her own small business. She says her best Marshall moment has been joining Greek life, stating that she has made too many good memories in her sorority to pick just one. Her favorite thing about Marshall is the sense of community and that we are like one big family! Whenever she’s not working, Haley loves to read, work out, create social media content, and do anything that includes her besties! Haley’s advice for Marshall students is to go up to student organizations whenever they are tabling, as there are over 200 organizations, making a place for everyone on campus.

 

Kayleigh SteeleKay Steele

University Marketing and Communications Intern

Kay, born and raised in Huntington, is Majoring in Digital Marketing with a minor in Humanities. Kay dreams of working in Digital Marketing specifically for fashion and cosmetic companies. Kay loves all things fashion, social media, makeup, and spending time with her friends and family! Her favorite memory at Marshall was before her time here, having her father show her campus for the first time when he attended in 2006. This experience solidified her choice in Marshall’s community. Kay favors this community the most, stating that it has a ‘small town’ feel with a lot of resources and that a place like this is hard to find. As a commuter, Kay’s best advice is to not be afraid to speak to the people around you, saying that most people feel the same way you do!
