The Marshall University Forensic Science Center (MUFSC) is a nationally recognized leader in forensic science. The accredited DNA laboratory in conjunction with the Masters degree in Forensic Science provides the highest quality forensic analysis services and training for the promotion of truth and justice.
The MUFSC DNA Laboratory has a unique relationship with the West Virginia State Police Crime Laboratory and in past have worked jointly with DNA testing, untested sexual assault kits in West Virginia. In addition the lab has worked with other state laboratories to address their needs for testing evidence in criminal cases including sexual assault kits. MUFSC DNA laboratories are housed in secured buildings on a restricted access campus. Our ANAB accredited DNA laboratory employs a team of proficiency-tested, and mostly MS educated scientists with analysts each averaging 20 years of experience.
