HELP Program Accommodations & Support Policy Statement
At The HELP Program, we deeply respect and uphold students’ rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. All students at Marshall University are entitled to receive reasonable accommodations at no cost through the university’s Office of Accommodations & Accessibility, including accommodations for exams, classroom access, and other core academic needs.
Our fee-based program does not replace or charge for these legally mandated accommodations. Instead, we offer a distinct suite of enhanced academic, skill development and coaching services designed to supplement—not duplicate—the supports provided by the university. These may include:
- Individualized tutoring for academic courses
- Skill development tailored for executive functioning and learning differences
- Life coaching and personalized success planning
- Frequent progress monitoring and feedback
- Optional coordination of accommodations for added convenience within our office
Participation in our program is entirely voluntary, and students are never required to pay for ADA accommodations that are available through the university’s Office of Accessibility & Accommodations. Our goal is to create an empowering support network that builds on your existing rights—providing customized guidance, community, and skill-building designed to help you thrive.
