West Virginia Clean Cities Coalition

The West Virginia Clean Cities Coalition works with vehicle fleets, fuel providers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to identify community-driven choices that save energy and promote the use of alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies in transportation. Through these efforts, we help West Virginians reduce petroleum consumption, cut emissions, and strengthen the state’s economy by fostering innovation and sustainable development.
We are dedicated to paving the way for cleaner, more efficient transportation options in West Virginia. By connecting public and private partners with the resources and technical expertise they need, we support:
- Reduced Emissions & Improved Air Quality: Encouraging the shift to alternative fuels and vehicle technologies that help lower greenhouse gas emissions and harmful pollutants.
- Economic Growth & Workforce Development: Creating new opportunities in manufacturing, research, and services associated with clean transportation solutions.
- Energy Independence & Security: Lessening our reliance on imported petroleum by tapping into local resources and diversifying the state’s energy portfolio.
- Technical Assistance & Fleet Support
We guide fleets of all sizes—public and private—through the process of evaluating, selecting, and implementing cost-effective, sustainable vehicle solutions.
- Funding & Grant Opportunities
- We connect stakeholders with federal, state, and private funding sources that make it easier to invest in vehicles, fueling infrastructure, and advanced technologies.
- Education & Outreach
- We host workshops, webinars, and community events to raise awareness about cutting-edge transportation options, best practices, and success stories from around the state.
- Collaboration & Networking
- We cultivate an extensive network of alternative fuel providers, technology experts, policymakers, and community advocates – all working to drive innovation in West Virginia
