2024 Schedule of Events

Friday, October 4

12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – CAB Presents: Heading Home
INFO: Join Campus Activities Board for sliders, chips, and more on the Memorial Student Center Plaza.

2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Parent and Family Weekend Check-In
INFO: Stop by the Memorial Student Center to check-in for a full weekend of family fun. Receive your t-shirt, bag, tickets for events throughout the weekend, and more.

6:00 p.m. – Homecoming Parade
INFO: Floats, marching bands, and everything you love about parades fills the air on a Friday night! The parade begins on 4th Avenue in Huntington and ends at Harless Field. If you can’t make it, tune in on social media @MarshallU for a broadcast of the parade.

7:00 p.m. – Pep Rally & Bonfire
INFO: Marshall’s iconic Homecoming tradition! Join us on Harless Field to enjoy a bonfire with music, food trucks and more! Homecoming parade float and office decorating competition winners will be announced. There will also be special appearances by the Marching Thunder, cheerleaders, Marshall coaches and players!

7:15 p.m. – Marshall Men’s Soccer vs. JMU
INFO: Our Marshall Men’s Soccer team takes on James Madison University at The Vet! Get tickets through herdzone.com.

8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Herd Family Feud
INFO: Join us in the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse on 5th Ave for a game of Family Feud with a Kelly Green twist! Families have chances to win cash, Build-A-Bisons, and more. *This is a ticketed event. Receive your ticket at check-in. Marshall students enter with valid student I.D.

10:00 p.m.– 12:00 a.m. – Family Fun Night
INFO: Join us in Shawkey Dining Room (second level of the Memorial Student Center) for board games, video games, and much more! *This is a ticketed event for Parent & Family Weekend. Students can enter with a valid student I.D. Cash bar will be available.

10:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. – Silent Disco
INFO: Come dance the night away in the Don Morris Room (second level of the Memorial Student Center). For more information, contact Corey Cunningham at cunningha189@marshall.edu. *This is a ticketed event. Receive your ticket at check-in. Marshall students enter with valid student I.D. Cash bar will be available.

 

Saturday, October 5

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Parent and Family Weekend Check-In
INFO: Stop by the Memorial Student Center to check-in for a full weekend of family fun. Receive your t-shirt, bag, tickets for events throughout the weekend, and more.

11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Build-A-Bison
INFO: If you’ve ever wanted your own Build-A-Bison, now’s your chance! Join us in the lobby of the Memorial Student Center to build your very own stuffed Marco. Bison are $20 each, cash only. (While supplies last.)

12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Parent & Family Weekend Tailgate
INFO: All attendees of Parent & Family Weekend are invited to join in the pre-game festivities with food and fun in the John Marshall Dining Room on the 2nd floor of the Memorial Student Center. *This is a ticketed event. Receive your ticket at check-in. Marshall students enter with valid student I.D.

12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Parent & Family Weekend Photo-Op
INFO: Join us in the John Marshall Dining Room on the 2nd floor of the Memorial Student Center for a photo-op! *This is a ticketed event. Receive your ticket at check-in. Marshall students enter with valid student I.D.

3:30 p.m. – Marshall vs. App State
INFO: The Thundering Herd battles Appalachian State University in the annual Homecoming game at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. *Discounted ticket link provided upon registration.

 

Sunday, October 6

10 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Special Collections Tour
INFO: Special Collections in Morrow Library will be hosting tours.

10 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Stadium Tour
INFO: Join Intercultural & Student Affairs for tours of the Joan C. Edwards Stadium and skyboxes.

11 a.m. – Parent & Family Brunch
INFO: Enjoy brunch in Harless Dining Hall to close out the weekend. *This is a ticketed event. Receive your ticket at check-in. Marshall students enter with meal plan.

1:00 p.m. – Women’s Soccer vs. Georgia Southern
INFO: Buy Tickets.

1:00 p.m. – Softball vs. Ohio
INFO: Buy Tickets.

1:00 p.m. – Baseball vs. Ohio
INFO: Buy Tickets.

3:00 p.m. – Softball vs. Ohio
INFO: Buy Tickets.

Important Info

Parking: Parking will be available Friday, October. 4 in the 6th Avenue Parking Garage until 1:00 a.m. Vehicles need to be moved by 1:00 a.m. or you will not be able to retrieve your vehicle until the garage reopens on Monday. The 6th Avenue garage is a CASH ONLY garage. On Saturday, guests are welcome to park in any surface lots EXCEPT the stadium parking lot. Any cars located in the stadium lot on game-day will be towed at the owners expense. Please visit the Parking Office for more information about parking on campus.

Other Info: We highly encourage our guests for Parent & Family Weekend to bring cash for the weekend. Several events on campus and around Huntington are cash only events.

Need to add more family members? No problem! Additional people can join the fun for just $25 per person.

*You will NOT need to purchase a football ticket for your student in order for them to sit with you. Their free student ticket will allow them to sit with you.
