Graduate Student Yuting Zhou in COHP, Receives the Creative Discovery and Research Award

The School of Health Professions is delighted to announce that Yuting Zhou, a first-year Master of Public Health student, has been selected to receive the Creative Discovery and Research Award for Summer 2025 (Faculty Research Mentorship: Dr. Liang Wang). This prestigious award is one of the university’s highest honors for student research, and Yuting is one of only five graduate students to receive this recognition across the entire campus.

Yuting’s commitment to research is evident in her strong academic performance and her passion for cardiovascular disease prevention and obesity reduction within the Asian American community. Prior to pursuing her studies at Marshall University, she founded a startup at Cornell University dedicated to educational outreach within Asian communities, with a mission to enhance health awareness and promote overall well-being.

Since beginning her MPH studies, Yuting has worked closely with Dr. Liang Wang, Professor in the Department of Public Health and Director of the Global Health Institute. His mentorship has been instrumental in shaping her research focus and supporting her academic development.

Receiving the Creative Discovery and Research Award marks a significant milestone in Yuting’s career as a public health researcher. The School of Health Professions congratulates her on this well-deserved honor and looks forward to her continued success.
