This program has been designed to integrate public health training with pharamcy studies that allows students to complete both degrees without extending length of study. Public health courses are closely coordinated with the pharmacy curriculum.
Curriculum
The core public health curriculum includes not only such courses such as biostatistics and epidemiology, but key cross cutting training in such subjects as health informatics, law & ethics, and health policy. Students pursue either of two MPH concentrations. A track in Global and Community Health emphasizes practice in population health, while a second concentration in Research, Evaluation and Policy prepares students who anticipate working in health system change, including work in clinical research, program development, and policy making.
With most courses offered in the evenings and online, the MPH program accommodates the schedules for pharmacy students. A diverse faculty bring extensive experience in research and practice in medicine, community health, social work, public health informatics, biostatistics, environmental health, infectious diseases, and policy. Our student composition is diverse, including practicing physicians, public health professionals and dual degree seeking students.
