Thank you for your interest in War Comes Home, which will bring together Marshall University students and military veterans and active-duty military from the community to co-create and produce an original immersive theater production under the guidance of artists from award-winning Third Rail Projects (TRP). TRP artists will lead veterans and students in a workshop during which they will conceptualize an immersive theater production that will invite audience members to experientially connect with veteran and military stories. Stipends are offered for veteran/active-duty military participants.
Important project dates (participants will need to be available for the workshop dates and preferably at least one of the preparatory Zoom meetings):
- September 4, 2024: Preparatory meeting 1 (on Zoom) time TBD (2-hour meeting)
- September 13, 2024: Preparatory meeting 2 (on Zoom) time TBD (2-hour meeting)
- September 27, 2024: Preparatory meeting 3 (on Zoom) time TBD (2-hour meeting)
- October 4-6, 2024: Workshop (9-5 each day) at Marshall University, Huntington, WV
As a veteran or active-duty military, we want you!
There are many different ways you can participate:
- You can engage in the conceptualization of our production, sharing stories with other veterans/military members and helping create ideas and build stories for the production.
- You can help create text, music, movement, video or other content for the production.
- You can perform in the public showcase at the end of the workshop.
We would love to have you participate in any or all of these modes!
