Program Overview
A bachelor’s of arts in biological sciences provides a strong foundation in the information, theory, and technique required to understand life and how living organisms function. The program is ideal for students who would like to double major in another non-science discipline, such as business, communication or education. Students complete upper-level biology electives, including advanced 400-level coursework, enabling you to tailor their academic experience around specific interests such as human health, environmental science or microbiology.
Program Highlights
Students choose six upper-level biology electives, with at least four at the 400-level, allowing you to tailor your studies toward your specific interests such as cell biology, human physiology, or microbiology.
The program provides a solid grounding in biological principles—from cell structure to ecology—through core coursework in genetics, ecology, and chemistry, preparing students to understand life and living systems comprehensively.
The degree integrates general education requirements with the major, including critical thinking, communication, mathematics, and statistics, ensuring students are prepared for diverse professional and academic contexts.
