English Exam Vouchers for Ukrainian Applicants
Marshall University has received a limited number of fee vouchers for the Duolingo English Exam. We have been authorized to use these for residents of Ukraine in an effort to aid applicants in their time of need. For more information, please email the International Admissions office at international@marshall.edu.

Undergraduate Admissions

International student applicants who meet all direct undergraduate admission requirements may apply for direct undergraduate admission to Marshall University.

International Freshman Student
An international freshman student is defined as an international student who has not enrolled in any college or university course following high school graduation and intends to seek an undergraduate degree.

International Transfer Student
International Transfer Student
An international transfer student is defined as an international student who wishes to pursue a degree from Marshall University but who has previously enrolled at another college or university.

International Transient (Exchange) Student
International Transient (Exchange) Student
An international transient student is as student who is pursuing a degree at another college or university but would like to take classes at Marshall University. An international transient student also may be an international student participating in a reciprocal exchange agreement. An international transient student may attend Marshall University for no more than two consecutive semesters.

International Readmitted Student
International Readmitted Student
An international readmitted student is a student who attended Marshall University at least one year ago and who has not enrolled at any college or university since being enrolled at Marshall.

Graduate Admissions

International student applicants who meet all direct admission requirements of their selected graduate degree program may apply for direct graduate admission to Marshall University.

Degree-Seeking and Certificate/Professional Development
Degree-Seeking and Certificate/Professional Development
Marshall University recognizes two types of first-time international graduate students:
A degree-seeking international graduate student is an international student who enrolls at Marshall University with the intention of earning a degree in a graduate-level program.
A certificate/professional development graduate student is an international student who enrolls in a graduate-level certificate/licensure or other program that requires the completion of a specified sequence of courses, but who is not pursuing a graduate degree.

An international non-degree (post-baccalaureate and post-master’s) graduate student is an international student who wishes to enroll in Marshall University graduate courses without earning a graduate degree.
