Connect Back to Campus
The VPN is a service provided to Marshall University Students, Staff and Faculty for securely connecting back the Marshall University Network (MUNet) over a commodity network such as the Internet or Internet2.

By connecting to the VPN from off-campus you will be able to access campus services and resources as if you were on campus. These services include accessing network shares; Microsoft SharePoint, and Banner related services.

To begin using the VPN service you will first need to install the Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN client software.  Download this software from the GlobalProtect Portal at https://vpn.marshall.edu.  Choose the appropriate file to download and have a valid MUNet account. For information on obtaining a MUNet account or if you have trouble obtaining the client contact the IT Service Desk at 304-696-3200 or itservicedesk@marshall.edu

VPN Client Installation Instructions

Access another mailbox to which I’ve been delegated access

  • Outlook (Desktop) for Windows
    • Method 1: Auto-Mapping (Most Common)
    • If the mailbox owner has granted you Full Access via Exchange, the mailbox may appear automatically:
      1. Restart Outlook after permissions are granted.
      2. The delegated mailbox should appear in your folder pane, below your primary mailbox.
    • Method 2: Manually Add the Mailbox
    • If auto-mapping doesn’t work:
      1. Open Outlook.
      2. Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
      3. Select your account and click Change.
      4. Click More Settings.
      5. Go to the Advanced tab.
      6. Under Mailboxes, click Add.
      7. Enter the name or email address of the mailbox.
      8. Click OK, then Apply, then Next, and Finish.
      9. Restart Outlook—the mailbox should now appear in your folder list.
  • Outlook (Desktop) for macOS
    1. Open Outlook for Mac.
    2. Go to Tools > Accounts.
    3. Select your account and click Advanced.
    4. Navigate to the Delegates tab.
    5. Under Open these additional mailboxes, click Add.
    6. Enter the name or email address of the mailbox and click Add.
    7. The mailbox will now appear in your folder list.
  • Outlook Web
    1. Go to https://outlook.office.com and sign in with your MUNET credentials.
    2. Click your profile icon (top-right corner).
    3. Select Open another mailbox….
    4. Type the email address of the delegated mailbox.
    5. Select the correct account and click Open.
    6. The mailbox will open in a new browser tab.
