About AI at Marshall

Marshall University’s Visionary AI Initiative

Marshall University is advancing a coordinated and responsible approach to artificial intelligence through a structured AI governance framework. Beginning with the formation of the Presidential Task Force on AI in 2023, the university has brought together faculty, staff, students, and leadership to help shape how AI supports teaching, learning, research, and university operations.

Today, this work continues through the AI Steering Committee, AI Enablement Sub-Committee, and Academic AI Integration Sub-Committee. Together, these groups provide strategic, operational, and academic guidance for the responsible use of AI across Marshall.

This framework supports thoughtful innovation while keeping Marshall’s institutional priorities, ethical standards, and student success at the center of AI adoption.
