From supporting critical infrastructure operators to delivering tailored cybersecurity training and helping students gain real-world experience, the ICS brings applied expertise to every partnership.
Cyber Tabletop Exercises (TTXs)
The ICS develops and delivers customized cybersecurity tabletop exercises for organizations of all sizes and sectors. Each TTX provides a realistic, scenario-driven environment where teams walk through cyber events, practice coordinated response, strengthen communication between technical and leadership roles, and build overall cyber readiness. Whether exploring common threats or sector-specific challenges, the ICS TTXs help organizations identify gaps, understand decision-making workflows, and enhance resilience in real-world situations.
SCADA/OT Security
The ICS provides hands-on SCADA and Operational Technology (OT) security exposure through realistic demonstrations and guided instruction. Participants explore elements of critical infrastructure environments in a safe learning space, gaining practical familiarity with control systems, industrial networks, and connected technologies. This training strengthens understanding of OT operations, supports better coordination between engineering and cybersecurity roles, and builds confidence in protecting essential systems across sectors.
Custom Microcredential Courses
The ICS develops customized, self-paced online microcredentials that provide focused, practical cybersecurity learning aligned to real workplace needs. These programs deliver in-demand, applied skills that learners can use immediately across professional, operational, and critical-infrastructure environments. The ICS microcredentials are short, flexible, and accessible to working professionals, public-sector teams, and busy learners. Each course is built around an organization’s goals, offering a scalable way to strengthen cyber awareness, reinforce best practices, and support day-to-day security operations.
Current Courses Available
The ICS offers stackable, industry-recognized microcredentials through the Marshall Skills Exchange platform. These short, applied courses help learners build cybersecurity skills at their own pace while earning digital badges that demonstrate competency.
Learners can explore all available ICS microcredentials directly through the Marshall Skills Exchange.
Student Internship Programs
The ICS connects Marshall University students with cybersecurity internship opportunities across campus, industry, and government partners. The institute regularly shares openings and resources that help students gain hands-on experience, apply classroom skills in real-world settings, and expand professional networks. Opportunities may include internships within ICS, placements with partner organizations, or external listings shared through ICS connections. The goal is to prepare students for meaningful and successful cybersecurity careers.
