Biography

Anna Williams graduated summa cum laude from Marshall University in 2021 (B.A. English, Communication Studies), where she served as Student Body Vice President (2019-20), Student Body President (2020-21), chaired the Student Advisory Council of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and was recognized as the University’s second-ever Harry S. Truman Scholar. In 2024, Anna earned her J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board, won the prestigious Baker Cup Competition, and externed for Justice Beth Walker of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. After law school, she returned to Huntington and practiced as a litigation associate with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, an Am Law 100 firm, focusing on appellate and complex class-action litigation, data breach and privacy matters, and insurance-related disputes. During her first year of practice, Anna was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® as “One To Watch” in the areas of appellate, class action, and commercial litigation. Anna resides in Huntington, West Virginia with her husband, Dr. Stephen Richbart (MU graduate 2020) and their four rescue dogs.
