Welcome to the Office of General Counsel & External Affairs
Our team works to educate, promote, and advocate on behalf of the Marshall community, higher education, and the State of West Virginia. Our team travels across the state, representing the administration and campus at conferences, events, and meetings to share the importance of Marshall as the state’s second largest university, a R2 research institution, and an economic engine for Appalachia.
We have a presence at the statehouse in Charleston and in Washington, and are engaged with policy leaders and community leaders on projects at the federal, state and community levels. The office is responsible for developing public affairs initiatives and other outreach strategies for Marshall. Put simply, we are in the business of building partnerships – to drive Marshall’s growth, strengthen our communities, boost economic development projects, create innovative solutions to our state’s challenges, and capture our state’s opportunities.
