Slav Gratchev, MBA, PhD, is Professor of Spanish at Marshall University and the recipient of the Distinguished Artists and Scholars Award. He is the author/or editor of fourteen academic books as well as two historical novels. His research interests are extremely broad: from Spanish Literature to Russian Avant-garde; from Mikhail Bakhtin’s literary theories to female friendship in literature and art; and, from translation studies to advanced methods in teaching foreign languages. In addition to his books, he has published numerous articles on Cervantes, Dostoevsky, and Bakhtin in various scholarly journals including Cervantes, College Literature, The South Atlantic Review, Comparative Literature and Culture, The Russian Review, The Nabokovian.
