The Marshall University Nutrition Education Program will host an online Holiday Food Safety event at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11. It is free and open to all.

The Facebook Live event will feature Marshall dietitians offering their expertise on how families can stay safe and avoid foodborne illnesses during the upcoming holiday season.

“The holidays are a great time to enjoy our favorite foods with friends and family,” said Alicia Fox, director of the Marshall University Nutrition Education Program. “It is important to keep the foods we serve safe to prevent foodborne illnesses. Food safety is the most important component of holiday meals and unfortunately many times overlooked.”

Log on and have an opportunity to ask questions of the nutrition educators from the comfort of your home. Visit the Marshall University Nutrition Education Program on Facebook to participate in the event.
