The Marshall University Research Corporation (MURC) has announced its selection of Cayuse as Marshall University’s new research management software. This partnership marks a significant step forward in streamlining and enhancing Marshall University’s research administration processes.

Cayuse is a renowned leader in providing comprehensive solutions for research administration, compliance and funding to over 650 research institutions such as Duke University, Texas Tech University, Miami University and The Ohio State University. MURC’s decision to integrate Cayuse into its operations underscores the commitment to fostering innovation, efficiency, and collaboration within its research community.

“We are thrilled to introduce Cayuse as our chosen research management software,” said Dr. John Maher, vice president of research and executive director of MURC. “Our mission at MURC is to facilitate the growth of the Marshall University research enterprise, and partnering with Cayuse aligns perfectly with our vision. This software will empower our researchers, administrators and stakeholders to navigate the complexities of research administration with greater ease, allowing them to focus more on advancing service, scholarship and research and less on administrative tasks.”

Cayuse offers a comprehensive suite of tools designed to simplify the entire research life cycle, from proposal development and submission to award management and compliance tracking. With its user-friendly interface and advanced features, Cayuse will enable MURC to improve service for faculty, streamline processes, reduce administrative burden, and facilitate seamless collaboration among research teams.

Key features of Cayuse from which Marshall University will benefit include:

  • Efficient Proposal Development: Researchers can easily create, collaborate on and forward grant proposals for approval and submission using intuitive templates and integrated workflows.
  • Centralized Award Management: The software’s centralized platform will enable principal investigators, departmental administrators and MURC to manage awarded grants efficiently, ensuring proper fund utilization and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Automated Compliance Tracking: Cayuse will help MURC comply with regulations and reporting requirements by automating the tracking of key milestones and deadlines.
  • Advanced Reporting and Analytics: Cayuse’s reporting tools will provide valuable insights into Marshall’s research activities, enabling data-driven decision-making.

MURC officials anticipate that Cayuse will launch in October 2023. To facilitate a seamless transition to the new software, training materials will be available in the coming weeks to ensure that researchers, administrators and staff members have the necessary skills to harness the full potential of Cayuse and maximize productivity.
