The Marshall University School of Music will present “Triple Treble, a Faculty Recital” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 513 10th St., Huntington.

The faculty performers will include Dr. Wendell Dobbs on flute, Dr. Elizabeth Reed Smith on violin and viola and soprano Dr. Carline Waugh. The afternoon features music by Bach, Corigliano, Clarke, Holst, Roussel and others.

“Audiences can savor an evening of rare musical treats, featuring some lesser-known composers in exciting collaborations,” Waugh said. “While music for three treble instruments — flute, violin, and soprano voice — is rarely heard in classical music, this diverse and accessible repertoire spans several genres including folk, classical and contemporary pieces.”

The concert is free and open to the public, with sponsorship from the School of Music in the College of Arts and Media and Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church.
