Marshall Online and the Division of Information Technology (MUIT) have been named a winner of the 2025 Anthology Catalyst Award in the category of Leading Change, recognizing Marshall’s innovative use of technology to support student success and institutional excellence.

The Catalyst Awards, presented annually by Anthology, celebrate institutions and individuals who are leveraging Anthology solutions in bold, inspiring, and impactful ways. Winners are selected from across the globe and across higher education for their leadership, innovation, and commitment to expanding access and advancing outcomes for learners.

The Leading Change award recognizes institutions implementing bold, transformational initiatives that drive measurable, campus-wide change and influence the broader academic ecosystem.

Fueled by the new possibilities of its Blackboard® modernization, Marshall Online and MUIT embarked on a year-long journey of human-centered innovation in online learning. Marshall leveraged Ultra’s dynamic, intuitive platform to drive innovation across three pivotal areas: empowering faculty with a humanistic online teaching framework that prioritizes connection, crafting a concierge-style student experience that fosters belonging and success, and pioneering targeted micro-credentials that enable lifetime achievement.

These initiatives have forged stronger campus and community partnerships and earned national recognition, proving that Marshall is not just adapting, but reshaping the landscape of online education to serve all learners.

“We believe in the Power of Together, and this year’s Catalyst Award winners are shining examples of what happens when institutions partner with purpose, vision, and innovation to transform the future of education,” said Bruce Dahlgren, CEO of Anthology.

Founded in 2005, the annual Catalyst Awards recognize and honor innovation and excellence in the Anthology global community of practice, where millions of educators and learners work every day to redefine what is possible when leveraging technology.
