As classes resume across the Huntington campus and regional locations, university officials are anticipating continued momentum in student enrollment. While final enrollment figures will not be confirmed until October, early projections released in July suggest that Marshall is on track to see its third consecutive year of enrollment growth.
“There’s nothing like the energy of the first day of classes,” said Brad D. Smith, President of Marshall University. “We’re excited to kick off a new year with some great new programs, more students on campus, and a strong focus on keeping everyone safe and supported.”
Among the university’s academic highlights this fall are several new undergraduate and graduate programs designed to meet emerging workforce needs. These include interdisciplinary offerings in sonography, health and wellness and drone technologies — part of Marshall’s ongoing commitment to preparing students for the careers of the future.
In addition to academic expansion, Marshall is also launching a pedestrian safety campaign in partnership with local officials and law enforcement. As foot traffic increases during the first weeks of the semester, the Heads-Up Herd campaign will promote safe crossing practices, awareness for drivers and reminders to students on best practices for campus safety.
