The 5K begins at 6 p.m. at the Ritter Park shelter. The course consists of three loops through the park, starting and finishing at the shelter. Along the way, participants will pass through color stations where volunteers toss safe, vibrant powder. Runners and walkers are encouraged to wear white to get the most from this colorful experience. For those who prefer to stay clean, a color-free path will also be available. Registration is $25 and includes a T-shirt while supplies last. Drinks and light snacks will be provided at the finish line.
The event also features a free half-mile Kids Fun Run at 5:40 p.m. for children under 10. The fun run is untimed and does not require registration. Like the 5K, the Kids Fun Run includes bursts of color, so children are encouraged to wear a white T-shirt for the best experience.
The Dose of Color 5K combines fun, fitness and community spirit while supporting the Ronald McDonald House in Huntington. The Ronald McDonald House provides families with a “home away from home” by offering comfortable lodging, meals and support while their children receive medical treatment at local hospitals.
