HUNTINGTON, W.Va. –  The Marshall University Research Corporation (MURC) will launch the Cayuse Fund Manager on Nov. 3, 2025.

The new financial management tool is designed to streamline the tracking and oversight of sponsored project funds. The platform will provide real-time access to award financial data, enabling principal investigators, grant administrators and research staff to manage project budgets and expenditures more effectively. It will replace current MURC informational and invoicing reports, enhancing the ability to track and oversee sponsored project funds for the life of an award.

Key features of Cayuse Fund Manager include:

  • Real-time budget tracking, which provides access up-to-date financial information on active awards.
  • Transaction details, including detailed line-item transactions and spending history.
  • Award balance overviews monitor remaining balances across funding categories.
  • Compliance integration aligns financial management with sponsor requirements and Marshall University policies.
  • A user-friendly interface allows users to navigate easily to access critical financial data.

Cayuse has some access requirements. Users must have Banner Fund/Org privileges enabled. An approved Banner Privilege Request form must be submitted and processed. Cayuse access mirrors Banner access. Use the dynamic form to request Banner access.

Training will be available. Comprehensive training sessions will help users understand the platform’s functionality.

  • Virtual and in-person training sessions scheduled in October
  • Cayuse Fund Manager user guide.
  • Recorded trainings on the MURC website
  • Support available at cayusesupport@marshall.edu

Access to Cayuse Fund Manager will be available through the Cayuse platform using institutional credentials. To support users in adopting the platform, MURC has organized both in-person and virtual training sessions. A recorded walkthrough of the platform will also be available.
