The 16-week program consists of 235 instructional hours; with evening classes tailored for working professionals and students. Classes for the dispatcher program are offered at Marshall’s South Charleston campus, with integrated internship opportunities through the Bill Noe Flight School. The total program cost is $4,500. Financing options are available.
Aircraft dispatchers share joint responsibility with pilots for the safety and operational control of flights.
“The need for aircraft dispatchers in commercial aviation will continue to rise,” said Bill Noe, chief aviation officer for Marshall Aviation. “Dispatchers play a critical role in the safe execution of flights across the world each day. Marshall Aviation is committed to providing opportunity in aviation for the citizens of West Virginia and the surrounding areas.”
Marshall’s program is available to new students, working professionals and those already enrolled in Marshall’s aviation programs who wish to strengthen their credentials. Upon completion, candidates become eligible to take the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Knowledge and Practical Exams.
The addition of this dispatcher program expands the university’s growing suite of aviation programs, including Professional Pilot, Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT), and Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), which are all designed to prepare graduates for in-demand careers across the aviation sector.
