Share
Marshall University is offering an Ethical and Civic Thinking microcredential, designed to help learners strengthen their ability to make ethical decisions and engage responsibly in civic life.

The course is part of Marshall’s Durable Skills microcredential series and focuses on developing essential competencies in ethical reasoning and civic engagement — skills that are increasingly vital in today’s rapidly changing world. The course costs $100 and is free for Marshall University faculty, staff and students.

“Ethical and civic thinking is at the heart of responsible leadership,” said Brandon Dennison, vice president of economic and workforce development at Marshall. “This microcredential equips learners with the tools they need to navigate moral dilemmas, understand civic responsibilities, and contribute positively to their communities.”

Participants in the course will gain knowledge and practice in three core areas:
• Civic responsibility
• Civic contexts and structures
• Moral reasoning

Through a combination of theory and practical application, learners will complete the program with the ability to apply ethical frameworks and civic principles to real-world challenges — an asset for both personal growth and professional development.

The Ethical and Civic Thinking microcredential is ideal for individuals looking to enhance their leadership skills, pursue civic involvement, or bring stronger ethical perspectives into their careers and communities.
