Marshall Psychology Clinic to offer free holiday stress management group

Share
The Marshall University Psychology Clinic is launching a free, eight-session virtual group this fall to help individuals navigate the stress of returning home for the holidays.

The group is open to students and community members who want support managing the emotional challenges that can arise during the holiday season. Sessions will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays via Microsoft Teams, beginning Nov. 10.

“This group seeks to support those on campus and in our community who may experience higher levels of stress near the holiday season by providing them with coping skills and allowing space to process these feelings prior to the holidays,” said Breanna Meadows, M.A., who will facilitate the group under the supervision of Dr. Keith Beard.

Participants will explore common holiday stressors and learn practical tools to cope with family dynamics, personal expectations and emotional well-being. The group aims to foster a supportive, judgment-free space for attendees to reflect and build resilience ahead of the holiday break.

The group is free to attend, but space is limited. To register, contact Breanna Meadows at meadows433@marshall.edu or call the Marshall University Psychology Clinic at 304-696-2772.
