A team of second year students at the Marshall University School of Pharmacy (MUSOP) recently took home top honors at the annual West Virginia Pharmacists Association (WVPA) Statewide Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medication Challenge.  The “Drug Store Divas” earned the right to participate in the statewide competition by advancing through a series of internal competitions at the school level.

“Drug Store Divas” included Bailey Baker, Madeline Blevins, Cierra James, and Sydney Riffe.  Faculty members Drs. Angel Kimble, Tiffany Davis, and Mary Catherine Platz commended the team’s achievement, noting their collaboration and focus and demonstrated abilities in outstanding clinical knowledge and professionalism.

School of Pharmacy Dean Eric Blough says this marks MUSOP’s second consecutive win in the statewide OTC Self-Care Challenge, reinforcing the school’s commitment to excellence in pharmacy education and leadership development.

“Their success reflects the high standards we uphold at the school of pharmacy,” Blough said.  “We’re proud to see them earn back-to-back victories.”

A celebration is being planned at the school of pharmacy to celebrate the win.
