Marshall University, in partnership with several regional organizations, will host the 2026 Appalachian Conference on Social Enterprise Nov. 3-4 in Huntington, bringing together participants to explore strategies, ideas and opportunities for advancing social impact through enterprise.

The two-day conference will take place on Nov. 3 at Coalfield Development’s West Edge factory from 12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Nov. 4 at Marshall University’s Memorial Student Center from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Organizers say the conference will offer a variety of learning opportunities focused on helping participants develop effective approaches to achieving social objectives through enterprise, collaboration and community-based solutions.

“This year’s conference is an opportunity to bring together people who are committed to building stronger Appalachian communities through innovative, mission-driven businesses,” said Brandon Dennison, Marshall’s vice president for workforce and economic development and the founder of Coalfield Development. “By sharing ideas, experiences and practical strategies, we can strengthen the work already happening across our region and inspire new approaches to creating lasting economic and social impact.”

Sessions range from a bus tour of several social enterprise organizations in and around Huntington to presentations on developing the perfect pitch, finding financial resources and the strengths of Appalachian entrepreneurship.

Partners include Ohio University, Shawnee State University, Berea College, Rural Action, Future Plans, ACEnet, S.O.A.R, Coalfield Development and Redefine Alliance.

Registration is open through Oct. 20. Additional information and registration are available at acose.biz.
