Marshall expands Direct Admit Program to Lincoln County

Marshall University is expanding its Direct Admit Program to include Lincoln County, continuing its mission to make higher education more accessible by reducing barriers to college admission.

The partnership officially launches Monday, Nov. 17, and ensures that every senior at Lincoln County High School will receive direct admission to Marshall University upon graduation.

Lincoln County becomes the eighth school district to join the initiative, which is part of Marshall’s growing effort to simplify the college-going process and provide students with a clear, direct path to higher education.

“We are excited to partner with Marshall University to bring this opportunity to our students,” said Frank Barnett, superintendent of Lincoln County Schools. “The Direct Admit Program helps remove many of the traditional barriers to higher education. It sends a powerful message to our students — that college is within reach and that Marshall is ready to welcome them with open arms.”

Through the Direct Admit Program, eligible seniors receive automatic acceptance to Marshall University, eliminating the uncertainty and stress often associated with the college application process.

“Marshall is committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring that every student who wants a college education has a pathway to pursue it,” said Jerry Ross, Marshall’s chief enrollment officer. “Partnering with Lincoln County Schools reinforces our belief that opportunity should never depend on geography or circumstance. We’re proud to make the next step in education more seamless for these students and their families.”
