Marshall to present its Spring Dance Concert

Share
The Marshall University School of Theatre & Dance will present its Spring Dance Concert at 7:30 p.m. March 28 and at 2 p.m. March 29 at the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center. The dance concert will feature works by faculty, students and guest artists.

In continuation with last fall’s Works-In-Progress Showcase, audiences are brought inside of the creative process with the developing choreographic works in presentation, said Shelby Nelson, adjunct professor of dance at Marshall.

“This concert gives our students the opportunity to continue developing their original compositions,” she said. “They are guided through the development of their choreographic works from impetus to stage.

“This spring concert is truly an act of collaboration. Through this performance, we are able to share a wide variety of movement practices happening around campus. From classwork to creative research, contributions from professionals working in Huntington, and the season choreography of MU Dance Team, we hope to offer audiences a show that embodies the breadth of creativity and connectivity in our university and community.”

Tickets are $5 for Marshall students, $15 for seniors age 60 and older, as well as Marshall employees, and $22 for general admission. The box office opens at 1 p.m. March 23 for sales. Tickets will also be available on Ticketmaster.com.

All are welcome.
