Share

Marshall University undergraduate students in STEM fields are invited to apply for the 2026-27 NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium Undergraduate Affiliate Scholarship. Awards are made competitively to support mentored research or STEM engagement projects with a clear connection to NASA priorities.

Applicants must be enrolled as Marshall undergraduate students in an eligible STEM field. The proposed project or activity must be relevant to NASA and completed under the guidance of a Marshall faculty mentor or adviser.

Applicants must meet WVSGC eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship for direct Space Grant support.

Scholarship support is provided as a student stipend. Selected scholars may be invited to present their work at the annual Undergraduate Research Day at the West Virginia Capitol or another statewide or national venue.

Apply through the WVSGC uniform application system or use the QR code on the official scholarship flyer. No separate Marshall University application is required.

The student application deadline is 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026.

The faculty endorsement/evaluation deadline is 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026. Students should contact their faculty mentor or adviser well before the endorsement deadline to allow time for review and submission.

After WVSGC completes its initial review, eligible Marshall applications will be provided to the Marshall NASA Advisory Committee for competitive review and award recommendations.

Marshall-specific questions can be sent to Anna Mummert, associate dean of the College of Science and chair of the Marshall NASA Advisory Committee, at mummerta@marshall.edu. General WVSGC application questions can be directed to Marlo Lively at marlo.lively@mail.wvu.edu.
