The Carter G. Woodson Lyceum at Marshall University is accepting applications for its fifth Summer Institute on Black History through May 31.

Students and alumni from Marshall University’s public radio station, WMUL-FM, have been honored with over 60 awards from several journalism and broadcasting organizations so far for the 2022-23 year.

Marshall University Art Professor and Drinko Fellow Sandra Reed has a solo art exhibition on view in Room 119-A of Smith Hall, formerly the Birke Art Gallery. It will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, May 3 and 10, and from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Fridays, May 5 and May 12.

Marshall University has announced the appointment of Dr. Maria P. Gindhart as dean of the College of Arts and Media and Dr. Rob Quicke as the director of the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications, effective July 3, 2023. “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Gindhart and Dr. Quicke to Marshall University,”

The Marshall University School of Art and Design will present its annual Foundations Review exhibit, featuring artworks that Marshall students created in their first few semesters, throughout April. Art students take foundations classes that focus on different artistic media. Faculty chose each student’s best works for display, and the show will be on exhibit Wednesday,

Marshall University’s W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications (SOJMC) is seeking nominations for its upcoming Hall of Fame class.

Marshall University’s senior art students will have their capstone projects on display weekly, beginning on Monday, March 27, through Thursday, April 20.

Marshall University will host a concert of British music by the Brass Band of the TriState at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, in Smith Recital Hall. Among the pieces to be performed are Holst’s Second Suite, Elgar’s Nimrod, a movement from Handel’s Water Music Suite and a brand-new tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
